Victories for the Glendale College Women's Volleyball Team may have come infrequently this season but last week in Western State Conference matches against Antelope Valley and Citrus College's, the Lady Vaqueros took some big steps forward that may not be positively reflected in the standings.

In the WSC match September 28 at Antelope Valley, GCC won 3-1 by the game scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-22 and 25-19 with Bianca Hudson and Jennifer Ser Manukyan each registering 10 kills and Hudson also had three solo blocks. In the five-game home loss to Citrus September 30, the Lady Vaqs twice held one game leads over the visiting Owls before falling 26-24, 19-25, 25-17, 25-22 and 12-15. Ser Manukyan led the team with 10 kills, three solo blocks and two block assists while Hudson chipped in with nine kills and two service aces and Sofia Gregorio had five kills, 10 digs and one service ace.

Now 3-11 overall and 1-1 in WSC play, Glendale plays conference matches at Bakersfield College Wednesday Oct. 5 and at home Oct. 7 against College of the Canypns. Both matches start at 6 pm.
