A solid season by the Glendale freshman in 2019 led to the first baseman being drafted by the New York Mets in the 38th round of the MLB Amateur Draft after starting all 44 games that season. He hit .325 for the WSC East Champion Vaqueros and led the team with 45 RBI, hit eight homers and had 54 hits and tied for the team lead with 12 doubles. He was named second team All-WSC East and won the Gold Glove as a first baseman for committing just three errors in 341 chances and helped turn 32 double plays. He received a scholarship to UC Irvine.
