Eighteen games into the 2022 season, the GCC Baseball Team has relied on timely hitting and mostly reliable pitching to sport a 13-5 record overall and a 2-0 mark at the outset of WSC South play this week. It was on full display Tuesday March 10 when the Vaqs notched a 10-6 win over visiting West L.A. College, the second win for Glendale in the three-game series at Stengel Field.

Of the 11 hits on the day, GCC had four doubles by Will Cheatham, Hans Seo, Aaron Suval and Kenji Pallares with Alex Laureano, Pallares and Suval contributing two hits each and two RBI. Glendale trailed 2-0 in the second inning before a Pallares double and RBI singles by Alex Mills and Brandon Nguyen gave the Vaqs a 3-2 lead they would not relinquish. Chris Lozano got his first win of the season in relief of starter Dylan Goodrich and pitchers Tobias Plotkin, Brandon Doehne and Julian Jaramillo, who earned the save, kept the visitors at bay.

GCC concludes the three-game series at West L.A. Saturday March 12 at 1 pm.
