GCC Baseball wins third straight game, 11-1 over Mt. SAC Feb. 14; improves to 5-3

Bases clearing doubles by Joey Craig in the fourth inning and Nick Sutherlin in the fifth inning helped pace the Glendale College Baseball Team to an 11-1 win over Mt. San Antonio College on the road Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Now 5-3 after its third straight win, GCC was led offensively by Craig and Sutherlin who had two hits each and three RBI. Brandon Nguyen also had two hits and scored three runs. Starting pitcher Matt Tamura got the win, allowing just three hits and one run and walking three with one strikeout in his three innings of work. Joseph Perez followed Tamura on the mound and allowed three hits, two walks and struck out two in his two innings and Tobias Plotkin further blanked the Mounties with no runs or hits allowed while walking three and striking out seven in his four innings.

Glendale, ranked No. 4 in Southern California in the CCCBCA poll, plays at Fullerton College Friday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. and hosts Ventura College at 1 pm Saturday, Feb. 18 at Stengel Field.
