The Vaqs piled up some impressive statistics in the pair of conference wins:

  • In scoring 34 runs in two games, they piled up 38 hits including 12 extra base hits.
  • Adrian Gonzalez had three hits and three RBI in Tuesday's win, and five players had two hits each.
  • Nick Sutherin had six hits in both games including four in the second game and Adrian Gonzalez also had six, three in each game
  • Gabe Juarez had five hits in both games including a grand slam homer in the first inning of Thursday's game to give GCC a 4-1 lead. He had seven RBI in both games and Joey Craig had a pair of homers and five RBI.
  • The Vaqs only used five pitchers in both games with reliever Chris Lozano getting the win on Thursday, striking out four in his four innings and starting pitcher Boon Fay was the winning pitcher Tuesday with six strikeouts to improve to 3-0.

GCC concludes the three-game series with a scheduled game at Antelope Valley College Saturday, March 11 at 1 p.m.
