GCC Baseball beats Santa Barbara 7-4 April 4; is now 22-9 overall

In preperation for the home stretch of conference play, the GCC Baseball Team beat Santa Barbara 7-4 Tuesday April 4 and fell to El Camino 9-2 April 6 in non-conference games and are now 22-9 overall. The Vaqs are in first place in the WSC South at 11-1 and hold a two game lead.

In the win over Santa Barbara, Ethan Firestone had three hits including a two-run homer and a run scoring single and Gabe Juarez also had three hits including a pair of doubles. Andrew Cisneros added two hits. Starting pitcher Geo Hernandez pitched six innings and stuck out four and allowed just one run and three hits and Joseph Perez and Tobias Plotkin pitched one inning each in relief.

GCC returnis to WSC play this week with three games against Citrus College, Tuesday April 11 at Citrus at 2:30 pm, Thursday April 13 at home at Stengel Field at 2:30 pm and Saturday April 15 at Citrus at 1:00 pm.
