GCC Softball dominates on offense and on the mound in 8-4 win over L.A. Valley March 31

Winning games has been a challenge for the GCC Women's Softball Team in 2022 but the Lady Vaqs put it all together Thursday March 31 in an 8-4 win on the road at L.A. Valley College. It was the first WSC South win of the year for Glendale and is now 1-5 in conference and are 8-21 overall.

Starting pitcher Sierra Ruvalcaba pitched a complete game winner allowing just three hits in seven innings. Rachelle Garcia led the Lady Vaqs with three hits, one RBI and one run scored and hit a triple to lead the 11-hit attack. Jimena Ibarra had two hits and scored three runs, Triniti Akau had two hits including a double, Cambria Rems had two hits and scored two runs with an RBI and Samantha Sanchez had two hits and an RBI.

Glendale plays next Saturday April 2 in a doubleheader at L.A. Harbor College at noon and 2 pm.
