GCC Women's Softball rallies for 4-2 home win over L.A. Valley College April 18; Jimena Ibarra has two hits and a solo homer

Trailing 2-0 against L. A. Valley College, the GCC Women's Softball Team rallied to score single runs in innings 3 through 6 to beat the visiting Monrachs 4-2 Tuesday in a WSC game at the Glendale Sports Complex. Glendale is now 8-26-1 overall and 2-14 in WSC play.

Jimena Ibarra paced the offense with two hits, two RBI and a run scored including a solo homer. Angelica Saldana hit a triple and scored a run and Maya Chacon also had a hit and pitched two innings in relief of starter and winning pitcher Isabel Paynter to get the save. Ginger Duncan and Aurora Alcaraz also had hits for the Lady Vaqs.

GCC closes out the 2023 season with an away game Thursday April 20 at College of the Canyons at 2:30 pm and hosts Bakersfield College Tuesday April 25 at 2:30 pm at the Glendale Sports Complex.
