GCC Women's Softball splits a pair of doubleheaders Feb. 15 and 17, now 5-5 this season
A busy week for the GCC Women's Softball Team ended on a positive note Saturday Feb. 17 with a 10-4 over Victor Valley College after falling to Compton College 13-10 earlier in the day. Glendale also split a doubleheader with Moorpark College Feb 15, dropping the first game 10-2 and then winning the second game 7-6.
 
Now 5-5 this season, the Lady Vaqs pounded out 16 hits in the win over Victor Valley paced by Mya Chacon who had four hits, scored three runs and had two RBI. Tati Pisa had three hits and scored two runs and Arlene Islas, Lily Brito and Natasha Cohen all getting two hits with Islas scoring three runs and driving in two runs and Brito hitting a double. Torii Forsberg earned the win in relief with 4.2 innings in the circle to even her record at 4-4 and allowed just four hits and struck out two.
 
Glendale had the Feb.19 home doubleheader against Victor Valley postponed because of rain and host Santa Monica Thursday Feb. 22 at 2:30 pm and San Diego Southwestern College in a doubleheader Saturday Feb. 24 at noon and 2 pm. All GCC home games are played at the Glendale Sports Complex.
