GCC Softball rallies for fourth straight win with 6-5 come from behind victory over College of the Desert March 16; improve to 11-7 overall
With a driving rain almost halting their non-conference game against College of the Desert Saturday March 16 on the road, the GCC Softball team made the most of the opportunity to play, rallying from a 4-1 deficit in the fifth inning to post a 6-5 win. The Lady Vaqs scored three runs in the 7th inning as they improved to 11-7 for their fourth straight win. The second game of the doubleheader was cancelled due to weather concerns.

Sophomore Torii Forsberg came up big pitching and hitting as she scattered 12 hits but allowed just five runs and stuck out six to improve to 9-5 and had two doubles and two RBI at the plate. A double by Arlene Islas started off the three-run rally in the seventh inning and Tati Pisa also had a double as GCC had 10 hits in the game.

GCC continues WSC play Tuesday March 19 at Canyons at 2:30 pm and hosts L.A. Mission at 2:30 pm Thursday March 21 at the Glendale Sports Complex. They face West Hills at 10 am and Hartnell at noon on the road Saturday March 23 in a non-conference doubleheader.
