GCC Softball improves to 15-12 and 4-4 with 7-2 win over Antelope Valley College April 4
Savannah Alvarez hit a two-run homer and the GCC Softball Team scored five runs in the fourth inning to help fuel the Lady Vaqs to a 7-2 conference win over visiting Antelope Valley College April 4 at the Glendale Sports Complex. Now 4-4 in WSC South play and 15-12 overall, the win was the second straight following a 4-3 win over Citrus College April 2 which followed a 5-4 loss to Citrus in a game that was originally suspended due to rain.
 
Mya Chacon and Alvarez both had two hits for GCC with Chacon adding a double and Torii Forsberg had a two-run double in the fourth inning. Starting pitcher Forsberg earned the complete game win to improve to 12-10 and finishe4d with five strikeouts and allowed eight hits.
 
Glendale plays a non-league game at Pasadena City College Tuesday April 9 at 2:30 pm, hosts Canyons Thursday April 11 at 2:30 pm and plays at Grossmont College in a doubleheader Saturday April 13 at noon and 2 pm.
