GCC Women's Basketball splits a pair of games in crossover event Nov. 17-18, now 4-1 this season
As the 2023-24 season unfolds for the GCC women's Basketball Team, the home loss to Victory Valley College on Nov. 18 in its second game of their crossover event might be an important building block for the remainder of the season. The 67-60 loss to the Rams snapped a four-game winning streak for the Lady Vaqs who overcame game long shooting woes to erase a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 60 all with less than a minute left before the visitors rallied to win.

Now 4-1 after beating Mira Costa 57-26 Nov. 17, Malia Ulery had a game high 20 points including four of six three pointers and a team high three assists. Osanna Tirityan added 12 points and 10 rebounds and Paola Gorgeiz had 10 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. GCC outrebounded the visitors 39-32 but shot only 32 percent from the field and 17 percent from the three-point line on five makes out of 28 attempts.

Glendale has no games this week and plays next in the Orange Coast College Tournament Dec. 1 against Long Beach City College at 3 pm and against Orange Coast Friday Dec.2 at 3 pm.
