Glendale Women's Cross-Country Team has solid results in Mark Covert Invitational


The Lady Vaqueros finished as the top community college team to take part in the race that featured over 130 runners. Newcomer Annika Anderson (20:09) was the first Glendale runner to cross the finish line in 61st place. Karla Sanchez followed Anderson in a time of 20:45 which gave her 85th place. The rest of the top five scoring runners included Maria Martinez (21:34), Aleksandra Martinez (21:37), and Destiny Lopez (21:39), giving them 102nd, 105th, and 106th place, respectively. Rounding out the rest of the squad was Jordan Guzman (22:00), Norma Martinez (24:04), Xinix Perla (25:31), and Vanessa Portillo (36:26). The distance teams will travel to Cal State San Bernardino Saturday September 11 to take part in the Coyote Challenge.
