GCC Women's Cross-Country Team Wins Coyote Invitational

The men and women cross country teams completed their third race of the season at the Coyote Challenge, hosted by Cal State San Bernardino. Both the men and women took 1st place as a team. On the women's side, Glendale had 6 runners place in the top 15 and personal records from seven of them. Annika Anderson took 2nd place overall in a time of 19:30 with Destiny Lopez following her with a 4th place finish in a time of 19:45. Sixth place finisher Karla Sanchez (19:55) was not far behind Lopez, with Maria Martinez (20:24) and Aleksandra Martinez (20:39) crossing the finish line in 10th and 13th place, respectively to round out the top five scoring runners. Completing the top 7 runners were 15th place finisher Jordan Guzman (20:51) and Xinix Perla who took 43rd in a time of 24:38. The final two Glendale runners to complete the race were Norma Martinez (24:49) and Vanessa Portillo (31:29).
