GCC Women's Cross-Country wins 16th straight WSC Team Title

The cross country teams wrapped up their Western State Conference Championship race Friday looking to defend their titles at Legg Lake. The women claimed their 16th straight conference title scoring a total of 64 points over Cuesta's 76 points. Annika Anderson (19:35) and Aleksandra Martinez (19:35) were the first to cross the finish line, finishing 7th and 8th, respectively. They were followed by 13th and 14th place finishers Destiny Lopez (20:01) and Karla Sanchez (20:12). The final scoring runner to give them the title was Maria Martinez (20:44) who took 24th place. The others to cross the finish line were Jordan Guzman (23:11), Xinix Perla (23:48), Norma Martinez (24:06), and Vanessa Portillo (29:20).Glendale will have a BYE week and will then travel down to Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley on November 5 for the Southern California Championships.
