GCC Men and Women Cross Country Teams compete in Oxnard Invitational

The Vaqueros competed at the Oxnard Invitational this past Friday. The men's team took 2nd place, scoring a total of 52 points finishing behind Mt. SAC. Julius Largaespada took 3rd place in a time of 20:24. Nicolas Diconti took 6th place in a time of 20:35. The final scoring runners were Kevin Vasquez (21:33), Jorge Ramirez (21:35), and Abdiel Quero (21:58) who came across in 15th, 16th, and 20th place, respectively. Others to come across the finish line were Austin Kuromi who took 23rd place in a time of 22:07, Jeremiah Galloway who took 36th in a time of 23:41, Brandon Rivas-Gramajo who finished 47th in a time of 24:46, and Alexsander Hernandez-Morales who finished 60th in a time of 25:38.

The women also took 2nd place, scoring a total of 56 points finishing behind Mt. SAC as well. Aleksandra Martinez came across the finish line in 6th place with a time of 20:17. Destiny Lopez took 11th in a time of 20:51. Rounding out the rest of the team was Samantha Medrano (21:10) who took 14th place, Carina Langley (21:38) who finished in 17th place, and Norma Martinez (22:39) who crossed in 29th place. The team will travel to race in the Cerritos Falcon Invitational on Friday September 16.
