GCC Men's Soccer claims first WSC win, 3-2 over Citrus College Oct. 27
They have challenged themselves and their opponents to find the winning formula from the early part of the season, but the GCC Men's Soccer Team finally got back into the win column Friday Oct. 27 with a 3-2 home victory over Citrus College. It was the first conference win for the Vaqueros, now 1-3-2 in WSC South play and are 6-9-3 overall.
 
Sophomore Derik Stepanians got the Vaqs into the scoring column sifter a scoreless first half to give GCC a 1-0 lead at the 62:18 mark on a pass by Claudio Gonzalez. After Citrus tied the game at 1-1, a goal by J.P. Crispi on an assist by Vincente Sanchez at the 75:49 mark made it 2-1 and then Hovhannes Buniatyan scored the game winner at the 80:56 mark on an assist by Stepanians to make it 3-1 before Citrus scored a late goal to make the final score 3-2. Goalie Andrew Witrago had six saves for GCC.
 
Glendale is on the road for two WSC games next week, Tuesday Oct. 31 at Antelope Valley at 7 pm and at l.A. Pierce Friday Nov.3 at 6 pm.
