GLENDALE, CA – Bart Muns notched his second hat trick of the season and the SBCC men's soccer team shutout its third straight opponent in a 4-0 Friday night win at Glendale.

The Vaqueros (5-1-4) got two late first half goals from the reigning WSC Offensive Player of the Year, both on assists by freshman midfielder Timo Jansen. They would test Glendale (5-7-1) goalkeeper Mario Trujillo often, forcing nine saves on 13 shots on goal.

Approaching the 60-minute mark, Muns scored his third of the day, once again assisted by Jansen. SBCC capped the 4-0 win with a 77th minute goal by Gino Contreras, assisted by fellow freshman forward Liam Wilder.

"It was a comfortable evening yet again. Shoutout to the defense, and Sasha Halabi for leading that defense, for three shutouts in a row," assistant coach Matt Wilkinson said. "Bart muns got his second hat trick of the season and he was on fire in front of goal yet again, with a good connection with Timo Jansen, who assisted his goals. A great way to end our start of the season as we go into our first conference game on Tuesday."

Muns now has a trio of three-goal performances as a Vaquero and has scored multiple goals in eight of his first 28 games as a Vaquero. Contreras found the back of the net for the second straight game and second time in his freshman season.

Jansen continues to be productive, now with four assists over his last two matches. Goalkeeper Will Haberfield finished with four saves.
