COD (2-5) traveled to the Pirates Quad making easy work of the Glendale Vaqueros (1-4) and falling in the night cap against the Orange Coast Pirates (5-1).
Desert would start the day hot against the Glendale Vaqueros, grabbing their second sweep of the season, defeating Glendale 25-19, 25-20, and 25-15.
Sophomore outside hitter Melaine Hernandez (Thermal Coachella Valley) led the team with 9 kills and had 12 digs and freshman middle blocker Stacie Alexander (Yucca Valley H.S.) led the team with 2 solo blocks and 3 block assists. Freshman outside hitter Bella Branconier (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) had 6 kills and an assist block and freshman right side Sarah Nieto (La Quinta H.S.) led the team with 4 service aces. Sophomore libero Briana Delval (Indio H.S.) had 3 service aces and 13 digs and freshman right side Vivianna Hernandez (Desert Mirage H.S.) had 2 assist blocks in the win.
