MARAUDERS PAY TRIBUTE TO SOPHOMORES AND BEAT GLENDALE IN SEASON ENDER
Men's Basketball closed out their season with a 62-45 win over the Glendale Vaqueros on Friday.

Men's Basketball closed out their season with a 62-45 win over the Glendale Vaqueros on Friday. Before the action started, the Marauders paid tribute to sophomores Jonathan Daniels, Dakhari Lewis, Lucas Bagsik, Jaquae Franklin, and Raphael Bolompo. Once underway, AVC controlled the action, limiting the Vaqueros to just 14% shooting from the field in the first half, which resulted in a 6-point lead at the break.
Glendale's offense heated up in the second half, but the Marauders still edged the Vaqueros 36% to 35% shooting from the field, which led to AVC outscoring them 38-27 in the second period. Jonathan Daniels led all scorers with 15 points to go along with 4 assists. Dakhari Lewis had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Lucas Bagsik had 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jaquae Franklin had a game-high 11 rebounds, and Tre Hawkins chipped in 9 points.
Daniels finishes his two seasons at AVC with a 15.4 ppg average and 110 assists. Bagsik played over 1,180 minutes in two seasons with 169 assists, 51 steals, and 247 points. Franklin grabbed 156 rebounds and shot 48.2% in 46 games, while Dakhari Lewis averaged over 16 points in just 9 games with the Marauders. Joshua Assiff scored 403 points and hauled in 261 rebounds with 50 assists and 26 steals while at AVC.
Antelope Valley finished the 2023 season 13-15 overall and 7-7 in conference play.
