The GCC Baseball team earned its first win of the 2024 season Wednesday Jan. 30 when the Vaqs rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the 8^th inning by scoring three runs to win 5-4 over visiting Mt. San Antonio College. The big blow in the inning was a two-run triple by freshman Alex Dolan who had two hits and two RBI in the game.

 

Glendale fell to Palomar 17-5 on Jan. 31.

 

Kai Moran and Alex Laureano paced the GCC offense with three hits each against Mt. SAC including doubles and Ethan Pena had a solo home run. Jimmy Cafferty earned the pitching win in 4.1 innings in relief and Joseph Perez got the save.

 

Weather permitting, GCC has three games scheduled this week with two at home at Stengel Field, Wednesday Feb. 7 at 3 pm against Saddleback College and Thursday Feb. 8 against Fullerton College at 2 pm. They also play at Fullerton at 2 pm Friday Feb. 9.
