After falling to Golden West College 10-1 in the first game of a doubleheader Friday Feb. 16, the GCC Baseball Team came back to beat the visitors 10-1 in the nightcap at Stengel Field to improve to 5-4 this season.

 

Starting pitcher Shane Aldrete got the win with six strong innings and struck out four. Jimmy Cafferty struck out eight in his 3.2 innings of relief and Joseph Perez got the final out for GCC. The Vaqs offense had 16 hits with Cooper Bowen getting three singles, two RBI and scoring once. Alex Dolan, Kai Moran, Izzy Madariaga and Andrew Garcia all had two hits each and Ethan Pena and Alex Laureano had doubles for Glendale.

 

GCC has four games this week starting Tuesday Feb. 20 at Saddleback College at 3 pm, home against Oxnard College Wednesday Feb. 21 at 2 pm, at Orange Coast College Thursday Feb. 22 at 2 pm and at Chaffey College Friday Feb. 23 at 2 pm.
