GCC Baseball rallies from six run deficit to beat College of the Canyons 8-6 April 23
Trailing 6-0 in the first inning, the GCC Baseball Team chipped away at the deficit to tie the game and scored two runs in the ninth inning to rally for an 8-6 win at College of the Canyons April 23. The win gave Glendale a two-game cushion for second place in the WSC south with two games left in the regular season at 13-6 and are 23-14 overall and are ranked No. 14 in Southern California in the latest CCCBCA Poll.
 
Solo homers by Gabe Juarez in the second inning and Ethan Kearney in the fifth inning cut the lead to 6-2 and a two-run shot by Ethan Pena, who had four RBI in the game, cut the lead to 6-4 in the 6th inning before GCC rallied to tie the game and push two across in the ninth to win it. Five pitchers took the mound for the Vaqs including starter Daniel Neria and relievers Matthew Bender, Paul Xenophontas, winning pitcher Juan Rodriguez and Joseph Perez who earned his fifth save of the year.
 
Glendale hosts Canyons Thursday April 25 at 2:30 pm and finishes the regular season at Canyons Friday April 26
