GCC Baseball starts the 2025 season with a pair of wins over East L.A. College, 9-7 on Jan. 24 and 6-3 on Jan. 25

The ebb and flow of a baseball season showed itself during the first two games of the 2025 season as the GCC Baseball Team found their stride to start quick, come from behind and finish strong to beat East Los Angeles College 9-7 on the road Friday Jan. 24 and 6-3 at home Friday Jan. 25.

Home runs by Glendale dictated the late stages of both games as Daniel Ruiz hit a solo shot in the 8th inning to break a 7-7 tie in the win on Friday and Max Price hit a 3-run walk off homer to break a 3-3 tie in the win on Saturday at Stengel Field. Jackson Lyons had two hits in Friday's win and Price had two hits including a two-run double in support of starter Matt Cuccias and Ethan Kearney had two hits Saturday with Mike Bang, James Harrington and Lyons hitting doubles. Starting pitcher Cris Banuelos went five innings Saturday and relievers Diego Barajas, John Trainor and Luis Fernandez also took the mound to set the stage for Price's walk off homer.
