The GCC Baseball Team concluded one of the most challenging weeks in recent memory dealing with rainouts and cool temperatures by sweeping L0s Angeles Pierce College 9-3 and 5-1 Saturday Feb. 15. The Vaqs are now 7-4-1 this season.
In the 9-3 win over Pierce Saturday that was called after eight innings, Max Price paced the offense with three hits including a double and Ethan Kearney, Jackson Lyons, Ethan Munoz all had two hits each with Price and Munoz hitting doubles and Lyons bringing home two runs with a triple. Starting pitcher Jackson Trainor got the win and pitched five innings and struck out five and allowed just two hits and Liam Thatcher pitched two innings in relief.
Glendale continues non-conference play with a home game Tuesday Feb.18 against Cypress College at 2 pm at Stengel Field and play at Cypress Thursday Feb. 20 at 2 pm.
