GCC Baseball wins 6th straight game in sweep of L.A. Valley College March 11, 13-14 to maintain first place lead in WSC South; now 6-0 in conference and 14-8-1 overall
Despite the cool temperatures, the GCC bats were scorching hot this week in a three-game sweep of Los Angeles Valley College as Glendale scored 35 runs and had 33 hits in winning the games 10-4 March 11, 10-9 March 13  and 15-1 March 14. They lead the WSC by 1 ½ games at 6-0 and improved to 14-8-1 overall and have won six straight games.
 
Freshman starter John Trainor improved to 5-0 with his win Tuesday and the Glendale bats came alive Thursday and Friday as Daniel Ruiz homered and had three RBI and Jake Price also had three hits in support of starter and Thursday's winning pitcher Cris Banuelos and Matt Cuccias got the win Friday, striking out seven in his six innings of work. Alex Dolan, Daniel Ruiz, Jordan Viramontes, James Harrington and Dylan Sidell all had two hits each and Max Price homered and pitched an inning of relief.
 
GCC is off from WSC South play next week to play at Santa Barbara City College Tuesday March 18 at 2 pm and then play at Palomar College at 1 pm on Friday March 21.
