GCC Football starts fast, gets the best of L.A. Pierce 34-13 Oct. 12
In their never-ending search for an offensive spark and a balanced attack, the GCC Football team found some of what they were looking for in its 34-13 win over L.A. Pierce College Thursday Oct. 12 at Sartoris Field in the Pacific League opener for both teams.
 
Now 4-2 overall and 1-0 in league play, the Vaqs achieved its third straight win with a balanced attack of passing as Dylan Hassid passed for 293 yards on 14 completions in 23 attempts and four touchdowns and running with George Spiropoulos gaining 99 yards on 12 carries. Shade Schaefer caught three passes for 141 yards and one score and Jahrique Lowe caught six passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns. Toriano King paced the defense with nine tackles as GCC had five sacks and nine tackles for a loss.
 
GCC continues league play Saturday Oct. 21 with a 1 pm game at L.A. Valley College.
