Giorgio Spiropoulos rushes for 185 yards in 40-21 win for GCC Football vs Santa Monica Oct. 28
The GCC Football Team was firing on all cylinders as they dominated visiting Santa Monica College 40-21 Saturday Oct. 28 at Sartoris Field. The Vaqs led 26-7 at the half as they compiled 486 yards of total offense and ran 80 plays, compared to just 54 for the visitors.
 
While quarterback Dylan Hassid passed for 270 yards and four touchdowns, Glendale's victory was keyed by the ground game as the team rushed for 216 yards with Giorgio Spiropoulos leading all runners with 185 yards on 34 carries and one score. Jahrique Lowe was the leading receiver with two scores on five catches for 90 yards. GCC's defense allowed Santa Monica just 64 yards rushing and intercepted three passes by Jake Stich, Kayden Williams and Brooklyn Pasten.
 
Now 6-2 overall and tied for first place in the Pacific League at 3-0 and the winners of five straight games, GCC will travel to face Pasadena City College Saturday Nov. 4 at 6 pm in a battle for first place in the league.
