GCC Football falls to L.A. Valley College 27-26 in overtime Oct. 26
In a game that was decided by mere feet and inches, the GCC Football Team found itself on the wrong end of a 27-26 overtime loss to visiting L.A. Valley College Saturday Oct. 26 at Sartoris Field. The loss for Glendale snapped a four-game winning streak and left them with a 5-2 overall mark and 1-1 in the Pacific League.

Glendale led just 7-3 at the half as both teams struggled to find offensive consistency but the Vaqs extended that advantage to 14-13 in the third quarter but a missed extra point in the fourth quarter after a GCC touchdown and a Valley score saw the visitors tie the game at 20-20 necessitating overtime. But after a Valley score and successful extra point game Valley a 27-20 lead until a GCC score made it 27-26 before a failed attempt at a two-point conversion gave the visitors the win.

Jackson Askins passed for four touchdowns on 20 of 32 and 243 yards and Jason Sanford Jr. caught seven passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns and D.J. Cole rushed for 73 yards on17 carries. Michael Balian and Dario Sandoval had eight tackles and two sacks each to pace the defense.
