GCC Football ends season with 28-15 win over L.A. Southwest College Nov. 16; finish the season with 6-4 record
Weeks of frustration evaporated on one glorious afternoon as the GCC Football Team beat L.A. Southwest College 28-15 Saturday Nov. 16 to end a three-game losing streak and finish the regular season with a 6-4 overall record and 2-3 in the Pacific League. 
 
Freshman quarterback Jackson Askins has possibly his most efficient game of the season as he passed for 298 yards on 23 of 29 for three touchdowns and no turnovers. Shade Schaefer caught eight passes for 100 yards in his last game as a Vaquero and Angelo Easter added four catches for 91 yards and one touchdown with Mycah Pasten and D.J. Cole also catching TD passes. Zavonte Flournoy-Trice scored once on the ground and rushed for 42 yards on five carries and caught two balls for 35 yards.
 
Defensively, Isaac Robinson and Nathan De Leon each intercepted passes and Brooklyn Pasten led the team with nine tackles and Jason Sanford and Daniel Autry had eight each and state sack leader Dario Sandoval had eight tackles and finished the season with 13.5 to lead the state and broke the school record with 16 tackles for a loss this season.
