GCC MBB ends regular season with 84-63 win over Antelope Valley Feb. 23; face Mt. San Jacinto in first round of So. Cal Regional Playoffs Feb.28
On a night when the GCC Men's Basketball Team sophomores were honored before playing their last regular season game at home Feb. 23 in the Verdugo Gym, it was balanced scoring and a spark off the bench that fueled Glendale to an 84-63 win over Antelope Valley College. The win for the Vaqs gives them an 15-13 regular season and 8-6 conference mark and they advance to the Southern California Reginal Playoffs at Mt. San Jacinto College Feb. 28 in a first-round game.
 
Against Antelope Valley, five Glendale players scored in double figures led by Tyson Jackson with 25 points off the bench including 12 of 12 from the free throw line. Abi Pearl and Elijah Groves had 13 points each and Groves had a game high nine rebounds. Dahante Russell his four 3-pointers for all of his 12 points and Powell Mousaian added 11 points. Karson Peffer and Russell had five assists each.
 
Glendale is seeded 24th in the playoffs and M. San Jacinto is seeded ninth and is 25-3 .
