A back-and-forth battle between the GCC Men's Soccer Team and visiting L.A. Harbor College resolved itself when a 3-3 tie was broken at the 80-minute mark of the contest on a goal by Alek Kolsuzyan that helped give the Vaqueros a 4-3-win Tuesday Sept. 3 at Sartoris Field. Glendale improved to 1-1 after falling to Compton College 3-0 in the season opener Aug. 30.
Glendale jumped out to a 3-0 lead over Harbor in the first half on a pair of goals by Cesar Crespo unassisted at the 1:41 mark and then a second by Crespo assisted by Mateo Grasso at the 28:17 mark of the first half and then Grasso closed out the first half scoring at the 35:35 mark with a goal of his own to make it 3-0.
Harbor rallied for three second half goals to tie the game at 3-3 before Kolsuzyan nailed the game winner. Nicolas Hedges had four saves for the Vaqs.
Glendale continues play this week with a 7:30 home contest Friday Aug. 6 against Imperial Valley College at Sartoris Field.
