The Track & Field team completed their fourth meet this past Saturday at Santa Monica College. It wasn't a scoring meet, but it was another opportunity for the team to hit their times or their marks. On the men's side Ameer Mohammed (2:00.75) and Shannon Turner (2:01.38) took 5th and 6th in the 800m. Mohammed won the 1500m with a time of 4:08.96. In the 3000m, Marvin Guardado (8:56.54) took 1st with Spencer Geck (9:05.66) coming in 2nd and Abraham Martinez (9:08.31) coming in 3rd. Vincent Lieberman (17.76) took 3rd in the 110H and 6th in the 400H (1:04.81). Cris Santiago also competed in the 400H, taking 2nd in a time of 1:00.08 with Jesus Chavez (1:03.80) coming in 5th place. Usiel Ulloa won the Steeplechase in a time of 9:58.28, giving him the 'B' Qualifying Standard for the State Championships. Following him would be Abraham Martinez (10:03.59), with a 2nd place finish and only a couple of second off of the 'B' Standard. The 4x400 relay team finished 4th with a time of 3:30.60. In the field events, Axel Menjivar had a huge PR in the pole vault clearing 14'5.25" giving him the 'B' Qualifying Standard. In the triple jump, Dakarai Bell took 2nd place with another PR of 44'2.5." In the throw, PRs in the shot put would come from Pablo Gamez (40'0.5") giving him 4th place, and from Kevin Gomez (39'11.5") giving him 5th place. Kevin Gomez also had a PR in the hammer with a toss of 131'11." 

On the women's side, Bianca Biel (2:28.91), Jasmine Corralejo (2:29.37), Phoebe Forsyth (2:30.03), Yajaira Calderon (2:31.67), and Jamie Levin (3:31.95) would all compete in the 800m and take 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 8th respectively. Bianca Biel (4:58.57), Yajaira Calderon (4:59.72), and Jamie Levin (5:01.78) also took 2nd-4th in the 150m. In the 3000m, Lydia Forsyth would go on to take 1st place in a time of 11:26.10. Vanessa Portillo finished 4th in the 100H with a time of 19.79 and 2nd place in the 400H in a time of 1:29.12. Phoebe Forsyth would go on to win the Steeplchase in a time of 11:29.59, which is about a 15 second PR and continues to be the State leader in the event. The 4x400 relay team came in 3rd with a time of 4:31.40. In the field events, Elizabeth Switzer won her 4th straight meet in the pole vault after clearing 11'7.75." Karolin Espana had a nice PR in the triple jump clearing 14'9.25" followed by Vanessa Chavez who cleared 14'4." In the throwing events, Rebeca Jauregui had a season PR in the shot put with a toss of 26'6.25." In the Javelin, Smantha Torres finished in 3rd place with a throw of 84'2" followed by Vanessa Portillo, who took 4th place with a toss of 80'11." The teams will travel to Cal State Long Beach this weekend to compete at the Beach Opener.
