GCC Men and Women's Track & Field competes in the state championships; Shannon Turner earns All-American honors in the 800 meters

The Glendale College Men and Women's Track & Field Team concluded its first full track season in three years at the CCCAA State Championships, hosted by Mt. SAC Friday and Saturday May 20-21. Of the four runners competing, three finished in the top six, with one getting an All-American designation. Karla Sanchez took 6th place in the 1500m with a time of 4:59.95. Julius Largaespada, who had the biggest PR of the day, also finished in 6th place in the 1500m with a time of 3:57.37. Shannon Turner took 4th place in the 800m in a time of 1:53.06, which gave him All-American status for the event. Finally, Luis Juarez took 11th place in the 3000m Steeplechase in a time of 10:22.80.
