The Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country teams completed their second race

            The Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams completed their second race of the year as they faced tough competition at the Fresno Invitational, and the Vaqueros continue to show they will fight to the end. Overall, the men's team finished second with a total of 86 points behind Mt. SAC and the women's team finished in a tie with Mt. SAC with a total for 50 points but based on the tiebreaker rules they finished third behind Hartnell.

            On the men's side, they were led by Sophomores Marcelo Ramirez (21:19.3) with a 3rd place finish and Carlos Rivera (21:47.5) with a 14th place finish, followed by Freshman Albert Serrano (21:54.1) who came up big for the Vaqueros with a 18th place finish. Sophomore Akol Malong (21:54.7) and Freshman Spencer Geck (22:12.9) finished 20th and 31st, and Freshman Kevin Keller (22:22.4) and Sophomore Antonio Arroyo (22:42.7) finished 35th and 47th.

            The women had three in the top seven, led by Sophomore Jennifer Perez-Cazarez (19:16.9) who finished 3rd, followed by Freshman Noemi Apreza (19:44.4) and Sophomore Daisy Romero (19:50.0) who finished 6th and 7th respectively. Genesis Siam-Alvarez (20:10.0) had a 16th place finish, followed by Sophomore Jazmin Negro (20:17.6) and Freshman Phoebe Foryth (20:44.1) and Eileen Silva (20:56.0).

            The Vaqueros will be racing again Friday, September 14th at Don Knabe Regional Park in Cerritos for the SoCal Preview race.
