Men and Women's Cross Country teams competed in Marl Covert Invitational Sept. 3

The Vaqueros opened the 2022 cross country season at the Mark Covert Classic, hosted by Cal State Fullerton. The race featured Division I, Division II, and other community colleges. The men ran an 8k race, taking 7th place overall. Julius Largaespada finished in 31st place with a time of 26:47. Abdiel Quero came in 44th (27:09), Kevin Vasquez in 47th (27:19), Jorge Ramirez in 74th (27:55), and Brandon Rivas in 155th (31:42) to round out the scoring five runners. Alexsander Hernandez-Morales was Glendale's sixth runner to cross the finish line in a time of 32:21.

The women's team took 13th place overall, with Aleksandra Martinez being the first runner to cross the finish line in a time of 20:54. She was followed by Destiny Lopez (21:24) who finished in 91st place, Samantha Medrano (22:24) who came in 120th place, Carina Langley (23:26) who took 137th, and Norma Martinez Santiago (23:59) who came across in 145th place. The team will travel to Oxnard on Friday, September 9 for the Oxnard Invitationa.l.
