Lady Vaqs rally for 6-5 win over Barstow College in eight innings

On a cloudy day Tuesday April 16, a little bit of sunshine came through for the GCC Women's softball team as they rallied for a 6-5 win over Barstow College at the Glendale Sports Complex. 

With the game tied at five all heading into the eighth inning, Megan Gamboa hit a hard shot off of the Barstow shortstop's glove to score Leslie Gonzalez from third base to give Glendale the win. 

Oliva Jukes was the hitting star for GCC with four hits including  a three run homer and three singles, scored two runs and stole a base. Arlene Barahona added three hits and Izzy Avanosian had two hits in support of starting pitcher Reagan Atallah who got the win. 

The Lady Vaqs end the 2019 season with a road game at Antelope Valley College Thursday and host Citrus College Tuesday April 23 in the final home game of the year at the Glendale Sports Complex. Both games start at 2:30 pm.
