The blue skies and warm weather that greeted GCC starting pitcher Sierra Ruvalcaba Tuesday March 1 against visiting Santa Monica only served to make her more imposing on the mound. The result was a 5-inning no hitter with nine strikeouts that was the catalyst in a 21-0 victory to improve Glendale's record to 5-11.

 

Triniti Akau and Jimena Ibarra each had three hits and three RBI with Akau also hitting a triple and Xiana Villalobos had two hits and four RBI. GCC led 8-0 after the first inning on its way to the most runs it has scored in a game this season.

 

Glendale continues non-conference play Friday March 4 at 2:30 pm at Ventura College.
