GCC Softball scores early and often against Santa Monica in 16-0-win Feb. 22
In a break from the rain storm that forced game cancellations and postponements, the GCC Softball team got back on the field in a big way with a 16-0 win at Santa Monica in a game that was called after five innings. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday Feb. 20 but rain forced the game to be played at Santa Monica.
 
Now 6-5, the Glendale offense pounded out 14 hits that helped produce the 16 runs and displayed solid focus at the plate by getting seven walks and not striking out. Lilly Brito had three hits. scored three runs and had three RBI. Angelica Saldana, Savannah Alvarez and winning pitcher Desiree Guzman had two hits, scored twice and had an RBI to help the cause. Guzman pitched four innings as she improved to 2-1 and allowed just three hits and Torii Forsberg pitched a scoreless fifth inning and drove in three runs with one hit at the plate.
 
Glendale hosts Southwestern College in a doubleheader Saturday Feb. 24 at noon and 2 pm at the Glendale Sports Complex
