The Women's Basketball Team opened the 2016-17 season Thursday night with a 72-45 win over visiting MiraCosta College in the Verdugo Gym. Glendale led 35-23 at halftime and opened the second half with a 10-0 run to extend the lead to 45-23 before MiraCosta got on the board.
The victory, the first for new Glendale Head Coach Joel Weiss, saw balanced scoring for the Lady Vaqs as Chloe Takeuchi led the team with 13 points. Kristina Sahakian scored 12, Brooke Radcliff added 11 and eight rebounds and Katia Dabbaghian had 10 points and four assists.
Glendale plays at Chaffey College Saturday at 2 pm
