GCC Women's Basketball wins ninth straight game, 48-43 over Antelope Valley, Feb. 12 to clinch a tie for WSC South Title

The ebb and flow of the 2021-22 GCC Women's Basketball season hit another high mark Saturday Feb. 12 at home against Antelope Valley. The 48-43 win for the Lady Vaqs was not without drama and suspense as the home team fell behind 11-0 in the first quarter and struggled throughout the game to find any rhythm on offense and relied on its defense for the come from behind victory.

The win for Glendale, its ninth straight in Western State Conference Southern Division play, secured at least a tie for the Lady Vaqs third straight conference division title at 9-2 and are 18-5 overall. Hana Trieu led the Lady Vaqs with 19 points and hit 3, 3-pointers and Megan Delgado had 11 points off the bench. Kayla Wrobel led GCC with eight rebounds, Vicky Oganyan had seven and Jesni Cooper had six boards.

GCC closes out its home regular season Friday Feb. 18 at home in the Verdugo Gym at 3 pm against Citrus College.
