Glendale defeats Allan Hancock and Cuesta in AHC Crossover; improves to 8-2 this season

Traveling 300 miles round trip was a long way to go for the Glendale College Women's Basketball to secure two wins in the Allan Hancock College Crossover Tourney in Santa Maria Dec. 9-10 but the results made the commute worth it as the Lady Vaqs beat host Hancock 64-54 Friday and Cuesta College 67-53 Saturday to improve to 8-2 this season.

Against Hancock, Maile Yamada paced the effort with 22 points including 15 of 16 from the free throw and Kaitlynn Key added 10 points and a team high nine rebounds. In the victory over Cuesta Saturday, Paola Gorgiez came off the bench to lead the effort with 11 points and Megan Delgado added 10 and Cherilyn Legaspi added nine points and five assists and Hana Trieu had five assists as well.

Glendale has no games scheduled this week but will host the Glendale College Holiday Crossover Tournement Dec. 21-22 and will host Allan Hancock at 5 pm Wednesday Dec. 21 and Rio Hondo College Thursday Dec. 22 at 5 pm, both games held in the Verdugo Gym
