GCC WBB maintains first place lead in WSC South with 64-52 win over Antelope Valley College Jan. 31; Lady Vaqs have won 14 straight games and are 7-0 in conference and19-2 overall
The path to a fifth straight WSC South title got one step closer for the GCC Women's Basketball Team as the completed first round play in 2024 conference play with an undefeated 7-0 mark after beating Antelope Valley College 64-52 Wednesday Jan. 31. The win for the Lady Vaqs was their 14th straight and they are 19-2 overall this season. 
 
Glendale received a strong effort offensively and defensively from Osanna Tirityan who led her squad with 20 points and chipped in with 10 rebounds and four assists. Malia Ulery added 16 points and Patil Yaacoubian had nine points off the bench and Paola Gorgeiz led the team with 13 rebounds and had six assists.
 
GCC starts the second round of conference play Saturday Feb. 3 at Santa Monica College at 3 pm.
