With a fifth straight Western State Conference South Title safely tucked away, the GCC women's Basketball Team continues to play like a team with other goals in mind as exhibited by their 59-37 win over College of the Canyons Wednesday Feb. 21. The win for the Lady Vaqs was their 20th straight as they improved to 13-0 in the WSC South and are 25-2 overall.

One area for Glendale that has been slightly overlooked is its defensive intensity as they held the Cougars to less than 10 points in three of the four quarters. Offensively, GCC was led by Osanna Tirityan with 14 points and seven rebounds, Malia Ulery added 12 points, four rebounds and four assists and Paola Gorgeiz had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Patil Yaacoubian chipped in with 10 points and Maribel Rodriguez had 6 rebounds both off the bench.
