GCC Women's Basketball starts season by splitting a pair of games in the Rio Hondo Crossover Nov 8-9.
On the heels of a season that saw the GCC Women's Basketball Team set school records in wins with 30 as well as 25 straight victories, the 2024-25 edition of the Lady Vaqs got the ball rolling on a new season by splitting a pair of games in the Rio Hondo Crossover event. They beat San Diego City College 64-28 on Friday Nov. 8 and fell to College of the Sequoias 69-39 Friday Nov. 9.
 
In the win over San Diego City, Shadel Ffrench and Shushan Krikorian had 10 points each and Ffrench had a team high 10 rebounds. Andrea Hurtado and Aniah Bradley had six points each and Hurtado added three assists and Malia Ulery had five points and six rebounds.
 
Glendale hosts a crossover tournament this week and opens up against Imperial Valley College on Saturday Nov. 16 at 7 pm and plays Victor Valley College Sunday Nov. 17 at 5 pm in the Verdugo Gym.
