With five games left in the 2025 Western State Conference South Division basketball season, the GCC Women's Basketball Team maintains a one game lead but is taking nothing for granted as exhibited by its 50-point home victory, 94-44 over Santa Monica City College Feb. 8. The win was the 14th straight for the Lady Vaqs to improve to 10-3 overall and 9-0 in conference play.
Glendale got off to a quick start leading 29-7 after the first quarter. All 13 players scored in the game for GCC led by freshman Shadel Ffrench with 20 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Sammy Velasquez added 17 points and connected on three, 3-pointers. Maya Stokes from Santa Monica led all scorers with 30 points and added 10 rebounds.
Glendale hosts West L.A. College Monday Feb. 10 in a conference game that was postponed in January and plays at Bakersfield College Wednesday Feb.12 ay 7 pm.
