GCC Women's Basketball clinches tie for 6th straight WSC South Title with 72-49 win over L.A. Valley College Feb. 15; now 12-0 in conference and 22-3 overall after 17th straight win
On the day that the GCC sophomores played their final regular season game in the Verdugo Gym, the Lady Vaqueros took another step towards their sixth straight conference title with a 72-49 win over L.A. Valley College Saturday Feb. 15. Glendale has now won 17 straight games and is 12-0 in conference, 22-3 overall and ranked tied for fifth in the state poll.
 
GCC trailed 10-0 at one point in the first quarter but rallied to take a 25-20 halftime advantage but it was a 39 point explosion in the third quarter that put the game out of reach. Sophomore Malia Ulery had a game high 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead her squad and Shushan Krikorian added 13 points. Shadel Ffrench came off the bench to add 10 rebounds and eight points and Sammy Velasquez had nine points.
 
Glendale leads the WSC South by two games with two to play at 5 pm at Antelope Valley College Wednesday Feb. 19 and at Citrus College Friday Feb. 21 and a win in either game will secure them its sixth straight conference title.
