Shadel Ffrench leads GCC Women's Basketball to 78-48 win over Antelope Valley College Feb. 19; clinch sixth straight WSC South Title with 18th consecutive win and a conference mark of 13-0 and are 23-3 overall
As she has been all season, Shadel Ffrench was again the difference maker for the GCC Women's Basketball Team as she paced the Lady Vaqs to a 78-48 win on the road against Antelope Valley College to clinch its sixth straight WSC Title. Ffrench led the team with 23 points and 13 rebounds in just 20 minutes as Glendale improved to 13-0 in conference play and 23-3 overall and has won 18 straight games.
 
The Lady Vaqs thuroughly dominated the contest as they outscored the home squad in every quarter. Shushan Krikorian added 13 points, Sammy Velasquez had 12 and Janelly Portillo had 10 points to pace the offense and Maribel Rodriguez added six rebounds and three assists.
 
Glendale closes out the regular season with a 5 pm game Friday Feb. 21 at Citrus College. The Lady Vaqs are expected to be a top seed when the playoff bracket for the Southern Regional playoffs is released this weekend.
