With the possibility of rain, and forcing a reschedule, the weather held up long enough so that Glendale could get their match in against College of the Canyons.
The Lady Vaqueros were able to take care of business and take all six singles matches. The match of the day was at #3 doubles, where Felicia Moradian and Maria Villegas won a thriller. "It's about staying focus and not letting up," said Coach Sy. The #3 doubles team were down 1-6 at one point. They stayed poised and were able to win the next seven games, winning the match 8-6. "Sometimes, it's reminding players not to overthink things, and just focus on the basics," added Coach Sy.
The Lady Vaqueros finished the first round of their conference matches and will begin the second round next week. They will face Ventura College on March 6 at 2pm in Glendale.
